单词首字母究竟什么时候大写？丨干货

但是：当组织机构的名字没有被明确指出时，不需要首字母大写，例

John is an officer of the New York Police Department, the largest municipal（市政的） police department in the United States.

• 名称在名字之前，字母大写；如：

  We are pleased to introduce President Obama.
  

• 名称在名字之后，字母小写；如：

  The conference will be led by Bill Gates, the chairman of Microsoft.

• 当用方位词指示一个地理区域时大写，例

  Growing up in a military family, Hunter spent many years in the Middle East.

• 但是：在指示基本方向时，不需要大写，例

  The storm is moving north at 17 miles per hour.

• 星期几（如Monday、Friday）

• 月份（如April、July）

• 节假日（如April Fool's Day）

• 事件（如Watergate Event）

但是，季节是不需要大写的，例如：

Carol is going to America, this winter.

I think that summer is my favourite season.

• 当直接引用某些话时，引用内容的首字母大写;

• 如果引用书、电影或歌曲的名字，首字母大写，所有的冠词和介词需小写。例

• 缩写和基于专有名词的缩写时，所有字母大写，例 NBC is also known as the National Broadcasting Company.
